7-1-21 THOUGHTS

Some thoughts on the place of our YEARNING FOR GOD AND HIS WORD!
Ps 63:1     O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Prov 1:1-9    The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel: 2  To know wisdom and instruction, To discern the sayings of understanding, 3  To receive instruction in wise behavior, Righteousness, justice and equity; 4  To give prudence to the naive, To the youth knowledge and discretion, 5  A wise man will hear and increase in learning, And a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel, 6  To understand a proverb and a figure, The words of the wise and their riddles. 7  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction. 8  Hear, my son, your father’s instruction And do not forsake your mother’s teaching; 9  Indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head And ornaments about your neck.
Prov 2:1-11   My son, if you will receive my words And treasure my commandments within you, 2  Make your ear attentive to wisdom, Incline your heart to understanding; 3  For if you cry for discernment, Lift your voice for understanding; 4  If you seek her as silver And search for her as for hidden treasures; 5  Then you will discern the fear of the LORD And discover the knowledge of God. 6  For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7  He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, 8  Guarding the paths of justice, And He preserves the way of His godly ones. 9  Then you will discern righteousness and justice And equity and every good course. 10  For wisdom will enter your heart And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; 11  Discretion will guard you, Understanding will watch over you,

Matt 5:6   "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
John 6:27    "Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal."
John 4:14   but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."
Ps 119:1-7   How blessed are those whose way is blameless, Who walk in the law of the LORD.
2  How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart. 3  They also do no unrighteousness; They walk in His ways. 4  You have ordained Your precepts, That we should keep them diligently. 5  Oh that my ways may be established To keep Your statutes! 6  Then I shall not be ashamed When I look upon all Your commandments. 7   I shall give thanks to You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments.

My Prayer:
O Source of truth and wisdom and understanding, help us to yearn for the Bread of Life.  Teach us to fear and reverence your great name, that Your wisdom and truth and love may abide in our souls.  Teach us the pleasantness of abiding in you O God.  May your Word become in us a well of water springing up to eternal life.      In the name of Jesus     Amen
